Happy New Year

Well technically it should be happy first week of the new year!

Frick - how long has it been since I last posted! The whole trip is almost booked but that's not even half the news.

It all started back in November when my boss told me he had sold the business. The worst news after finding out Cat had died. A bit melodramatic you may think, but seriously my world changed that night.

I have worked with my boss for almost 7 years. The longest employment I have had and let me tell you - the best as well. I have been through a change of ownership before but I never had an emotional attachment to that boss, in fact I was glad to see him go because finally I would be able to fill the shop with stock. But this, this is completely different.

Boss man has been not only the best employer I have ever had but I would also class him as one of my closest friends. He's probably one of a handful of people that have truly seen every side of me and still likes me :) The professional development that he has allowed me to have under his employment is something people dream about and I had it, for seven years.

Believe you me, I knew while working with him that this was special and I appreciate the time and effort that he put in to my growth as a Buyer and later a Retail Manager. Without his guidance and support I wouldn't be the person I am professionally and I will forever be grateful for his patience, love and back scratches. Those back scratches were always given when he knew I needed them the most.

Most of all though, I am going to miss working with him. In seven years I never had a day where I woke up and thought "I really don't want to go to work today". The ease in which you could approach him with issues or ideas for improvement was all his doing because he made you feel like your opinion mattered. This wasn't just lip service, he truly cared about what you had to say and wanted to include you in all matters surrounding the business. It wasn't just his pharmacy - it was our pharmacy.

So it was with a heavy heart that on Sunday the 9th of December I worked for Boss man for the last time and his presence has been sorely missed since.

Thank you Allan.
