Today was going to be fun as we were taking the kids to swim with the Dolphins!! YAY!!
To go to the Blue Lagoon Island you have to catch a ferry across. It's only a 20 minute trip but it takes you across open ocean water with views of small islands and celebrity homes. Last time we had done this trip the guy over the PA gave us a run down on who's house was who's but this time it didn't happen. There was a sign in front of a house saying "Oprah's not here but you could be - call ......". Not sure if that was Oprah's house they were hiring out but it certainly looked like only Oprah could afford it.
Once on the island we had a 20 minute induction going through the dolphins anatomy and where you can't touch - not that you would want to get fresh with a dolphin they bite you know!! Putting our hands up for the Dolphin Swim (not just a Dolphin encounter - no we are much better then that) we were lead away from the crowd to a separate pen area, got in our life jackets and slid into the water to meet the dolphins.
If you ever get the chance to swim with the dolphins you have to do it. Yeh it sounds really corny and stuff but they are so cool. We didn't stop smiling the whole time we were in the water - they were so much fun! In our tank we had three dolphins, one was pregnant and the other was the mum of number three dolphin Zoey. We weren't allowed to pay attention to Zoey or try to touch her in anyway. She is only two years old and hasn't started training yet so can be very unpredictable. In all honesty she was the best one in the tank. The whole time she would jump in front of you and swim under you trying to get your attention. Steve was smitten because every time he would take photo's of us, he would take two of Zoey. Here are a few.
She was such a poser! She even swam right next to the other two when they were pushing along someone and then jumped in front of him as he finished! Hilarious.
Getting our first of many photo's taken. They sell you the photo's afterwards but I only got the single ones of the kids to put on our wall. This one here was horrible as I got a cold sore two days earlier and it was the first thing you could see in the picture. Hell no, I have a really good one with Steve from last time.

Me dancing with the dolphins
Me cacking myself after a seagull swooped and took my fish that the dolphin just gave to me - they had told us to put them in the water straight away due to Steve the thieving gull but I wasn't quick enough.
What you pay the big buck for - the dolphin push. Two dolphins put their noses against your feet and push you along the water. One of the best experiences in my life!

Her grin afterwards
Jackson's dolphin push - he only had one as the other one wasn't playing at that moment. Still speed along.
Once that was finished and we picked up our photo's we headed over to the bar by the beach. There is this whole beach area where they have set up floating slides and you can hire beds to float on - that sort of thing. I ordered a banana daiquiri and enjoyed the serenity - with 30 other screaming kids and tourists. Wasn't as quiet as the last time we were there (we were the only ones except the bar staff) but still nice and serene.
Once we got back to Paradise Island we headed to Johnny Rockets for lunch. We have been trying to only pay for 2 meals a day so when we take a photo and we are holding up two fingers it means we got away with 2 meals that day. The food in the Bahamas is expensive so in trying to keep costs low we bought some food to have in the villa. We have been getting by on cereal and ham/cheese toasted sandwiches when the snacks hit us. Add a few bags of popcorn and chocolate chip biscuits and we on a roll!
Once home we sat by the pool, thinking about what the poor people were doing. No, not really. We were drinking cocktails and watching the kids swim in the pool. I could get used to this.
