Moves Like Jagger

Finally starting to get over the jet lag after a marathon flight unfortunately the floor is still moving around but that maybe due to the Bombay Sapphire.
Everyone woke up at around 4am on Friday morning to the sound of rain making me a bit nervous as Shaye and I are heading out to the Jazz Fest this afternoon to watch Maroon 5. Jacks and Stace weren't to keen so it was left up to me to show her the festival ropes.
We hung around in the hotel room for a few hours watching the dodgy Morning Shows before going down to have breakfast at Stanley's.I've warned everyone that we are only having 2 meals a day so I want to see their plates cleaner than Casey Donovan's ice cream bowl and the family didn't disappoint. Not a skerrick of bacon, egg, toast, potatoes, pancake or ice cream (perfect accompaniment for pancakes) was left.
After finishing up Jacks and I went back to the hotel room and the girls went to do a bit of shopping. The most important item being air freshener as you could imagine when in close proximity to each other and when you need to do number 2's the smell certainly isn't roses and we are only separated by some shutter/pantry doors which doesn't leave much to the imagination.
After having a couple of pre festival drinks we went down to catch a Taxi to the Jazz Fest which appears to be held at the Trotting track. Upon walking in we were hit by a row of porta loos a nice first impression for us both. The next thing we noticed was the amount of mud even though it had stopped raining in the afternoon it had been pretty consistent for the last couple of days. We obviously didn't pack our welly's so we knew we were in a bit of trouble. Managed to grab myself a can of sparkling wine and wandered over to the main stage to see if we would be able to find a possie that Shaye would be able to see something. Found a decent spot but as I know there is no shortage of douchebags to push their way through or use any bit of space as a thoroughfare. Maroon 5 put in a really good performance not really my style but I knew plenty of the songs from the setlist and Shaye really enjoyed it. The rain managed to hold off but the wind did pick up and it was colder than a mother in laws kiss and the fact that we had to wait over an hour for a cab didn't help. Just another lesson for Shaye and the joys of festivals. May need to be a West Coast supporter tomorrow and leave early to beat the rush.
Finally got back to an empty room (Stace & Jacks were on a ghost tour) and ordered room service. I had a nice piece of steak and Shaye went with the Alligator bites. So all in all we had awesome day and Shaye got to see her first band, ordered room service for the first time and finished off with her first taste of Alligator.
